7 Steps To Help Get Close & Personal with God

7 Steps To Help Get Close & Personal with God.

1. Clean out the clutter in your “literal dwelling”, where you lay your head at night. Anything you don’t need, give away or recycle. This is the time to be brutal with yourself. Have a give-away box.

2. Remove clutter from your life. Simplify, simplify, simplify. God doesn’t want to live in Your spiritual house (your mind and soul) where trouble and may strife prevail.

3. Calm your mind. Stop thinking erratic, fast paced, busy thoughts. Stop jumping from one thought to the next. Breath. Take time to decern the meanings taught in the Sermon on the Mount (Mathew 5,6,7 – Click Here). Take your time.

4. Prune Your vine. Cut back on fruitless relationships,  and gatherings, other teachings (2 John 9:10), rid your life of false idols, whether materialistic, digital or in the flesh, and any “Worldly” obsession, not of God’s plan for a good life, that take up space for spiritual  growth, or may prevent you from doing good works. Embrace meaningful fellowship, encourage fresh growth through living water in your life and new fruit will flourish.  If applicable, ask others for forgiveness of any transgressions against them.

5. Block Satan out from messing and distracting your thoughts, especially while you’re in prayer. When Satan tries to interfere and distract. If he creeps in, talk out loud to God, thank God for all the blessings in your life – you’re alive… thank Him, over and over! Satan hates that, and you’ll start to shut him out… believe it! Calm your thoughts and take control through the Spirit…force Satan OUT…don’t give him room!

6. Through a peaceful mind, start to meditate with God and turn up the love volume between yourself and the Holy Trinity. Connect, connect, connect. God is never inaccessible. He is always there for you. Always. Believe it!

7. Be kind. A change of mindset may be needed. Be Kind, Kind, Kind. Kind to yourself (firstly, you need to love yourself, so it also means being Kind to yourself), be kind to others at every opportunity, without expectation of something in return. Acts of random kindness, however small, will help your heart flourish, and you’ll start to feel the inner glow of God’s love. The running water of life will flow, and your light will shine, and and your saltiness will increase as others will taste (see) through your good works,  as you grow in your relationship with the Holy Spirit you will blossom. Do not boast of your deeds and you will feel God’s love coming back to you in blessings. Others will see, and see the difference in you and praise God they will want some of what you now have.

Walk as you believe Christ did, without sin by thought, word, or deed… You can do it!… we all stumble, but try not to. Jesus died to have victory over sins and evil, past, present and future. If you love your father, then You are forgiven.

Do not babble in prayer – Mathew 6:7-8. The Father knows what you need before you ask him.
